My Year of Gratitude Continues To Give!

Picture
I am deeply humbled and honoured by this nomination. My passion for the role that the responsible and effective use of technology can play in improving the way we live and work is unyielding and more than 2 decades long❤️.

I am humbled and honoured to be nominated in the amazing company of leaders that I greatly respect Mamokgethi Phakeng, Amanda Obidike, Karen Nadasen and Phuti Ragophala.

Thank you WOMEN IN TECH®- Global Movement for this recognition and your much needed global movement. We’re often toiling away not aware that there are those beyond our immediate focus that see our efforts.

As it is my year of gratitude, I am going to do my thank you spiel irrespective of the outcome of the nomination 😉. I’d like to thank the people in my life who have inspired, supported and held me *up* throughout my career.

My family: My mother, Nomfundo Dlova, sisters Noluthando Dlova, my brothers, Mbasa Dlova and Akhona Maqwazima and of course my husband who holds things down when I go on crazy work travels together with my children who are always welcoming when I return.

I’d like to thank my heroes and mentors who continue to be so giving of their time when I need an ear, some of whom have - over time - become my friends Kholiwe Makhohliso, Nomsa Chabeli, Dr Vincent Maphai, Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba, Dr Brigalia Bam, Dr Nonceba Mashalaba, Livingstone Chilwane, Vukani Mngxati, Marty Rodgers, Christina Raab, DeWet Bisschoff, Carl Ward, Visar Sala, Martin Zloch, Molebogeng Zulu, Donovan Muller, Nosizwe Dlengezele- Senyakoe, Jesmane Boggenpoel, Trudi Makhaya, Mameetse Masemola, Muzi Mthethwa, Bongumusa Makhathini, Vuyo Ncwaiba…I will never be able to name all those who have touched and inspired my journey.

Then there are my friends from high school and the Rhodes University campus, folks who not only inspire and push me, but are also always there Rorisang Mzozoyana, Sheila Akinnusi, Elize Mabinya, Balakazi Gqobhoka, Judith Ndaba, Erica Ofori-Adomako, Eleanor Ofori-Adomako. My friends from these work streets are too numerous to mention today, but you know yourselves and I thank you.

My Black Management Forum family, the leadership Sibongile Vilakazi, my colleagues in empowerment Mpho Moseki, Aviwe Metu, Ntombomzi Ngada, Phuti Kgano, Anelisiwe Gxumisa, Thulani Ngubane and many others. Our shared history and that of this historical organisation grounds me in purpose.

To you all, I say, „Nangamso!“ May you keep building minds and souls. You inspire me to pay it forward, every day.

How unbelievably fortunate I am to have the opportunity to walk this journey with you being a part of it.
